The Grey Highlands Gran Fondo is returning on September 12, 2026, and we are looking for enthusiastic community members to help make this year’s ride a success.

Hosted in support of the Markdale Hospital Foundation, the Gran Fondo brings riders of all ages and abilities together for a day that celebrates community, cycling, and local healthcare. Behind every great ride is a strong volunteer team — and we would love to have you join us.

Volunteer Roles Include:

• Route marshals: Provide wayfinding support for our riders on one of our five routes.
• Registration and rider check-in: Welcome over 300 riders to the event and ensure they have everything they need for a successful ride and event day.
• Rest stop support: Assist with managing one of our four rest stops. Ensure riders have all the snacks and water they need to finish their rides.
• Start/finish line Assistance: Help ensure everything runs smoothly for both the start times and or the post-ride lunch.
• Set-up and tear-down crews: Come early to help set up the event, or come at the end of the day to help with clean up.

Group Volunteering Opportunities

There are several ways to get your group involved. Activities best suited for groups are running a rest stop or cheering riders on the climbs or at the finish line. There are opportunities for all ages! Spaces are limited, so sign up today for more information.

Whether you can give a few hours or the full day, your time makes a meaningful impact. It truly takes a community to support our riders and help keep quality care close to home.
